Hearts Of Oak Board Member Frank Nelson Rubbishes Reports About Transferred Players

Hearts Of Oak Board Member, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, has debunked media reports that the club has penciled down some players to off load them although the season is yet to come to a close.

Reports were rife yesterday that nine players of the Rainbow Club including captain of the side, Robin Gnange would be put on transfer at the end of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The reports claim the other players who will be released by Hearts of Oak are Sabahn Laryea, Owusu Bempah, Richard Yamoah, and Paul Acquah. Others are striker Selasi Adjei, Togolese international Foovi Aguidi, Leonard Tawiah and Isaac Oduro.

But Nelson, who doubles as a member of the Strategic Committee has indicated that those reports are false and must be disregarded.
According to him, it would be unwise for the Accra giants to take such a decision as the team is still fighting to win the domestic top-flight which has eluded them for the past seven years.

‘’We have not said we are putting any player on transfer, we have not called our players to tell them that we are doing this, and I think it would be unwise for us to think of that now,’’ he told Joy FM.
‘’But sometimes it happens in the society that people will just come up with such news. I don’t know where such news is coming from, but I can tell you categorically that the board of directors and the management of Accra Hearts Of Oak have not thought about putting any player on transfer.
‘’We still have seven matches to play and so I think this is not the right time to do this.
‘’I want to use this opportunity to tell players whose names might have appeared in that list should understand that the club is solidly behind them. The club is not discussing anything like that. We don’t have intentions of putting our players on transfer. We have a lot to do and we appreciate their effort,’’ he added.

Hearts Of Oak currently lies 2nd on the league log with 39 points, two points less than Wa All Stars who are leading the table.

Hearts will plays as hosts to Techiman City at the Accra Sports Stadium on match day 24 of the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
