Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie has debunked claims that he is at loggerheads with his Boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Several media reports indicate that there is a rift between the Black Stars Management chairman and the CAF Executive Member due to little disagreement on issues.
Last week, an Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association, Winfred Osei ‘Palmer’ revealed that the camaraderie between the two is sour at the moment and that they are no longer in the best of relationship due to little row between the two.
But the former All Blacks C.E.O has denied those reports describing them as false allegations.
He stressed that people are rather not in tuned with his style of tackling issues bothering the FA and the Ministry in public hence their decision to speculate that there is a rift between him and Nyantakyi.
‘’The truth of the matter is that I don’t have any problems with Kwesi Nyantakyi, and I believe he doesn’t also have any problem with me,’’ he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.
‘’The truth is also that, there are people who are very sympathetic to the FA and who thinks that George Afriyie’s style of responding to issues as are far as the Minister is concern is not the way they want it
‘’I challenge anybody who could come out to challenge me with the name of only one Sports Minister that I insulted, it has never happened because I cannot do that, that ‘s not my style. I will challenge people in the football fraternity and within the football fraternity on issues bothering the FA which I think that it should be settled internally.
‘’I will challenge when people like Odotei and Neil Armstrong, you can google for my position.
‘’For me, my position is that I accord the necessary respect to whoever is appointed as Minister with looking down upon him based on something.’’
Nyantakyi appointed George Afriyie as his vice after the association’s elections.
