Deputy Sports Minister Vincent Oppong Asamoah has applauded the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) for exhibiting high level of financial transparency ahead of their trip to Rio Olympics.
According to the MP for Dormaa West Constituency, the GOC furnished the Sports Ministry with a comprehensive budget for the nation’s campaign at the multi-sport event.
The body also attached all the necessary documentation covering funds secured from sponsorship and the ones the International Olympic Committee (IOC) doled out.
“We need to credit the GOC for their hard work and their level of transparency shown. All sponsorship deals secured was disclosed to the Ministry.
“They disclosed all money accrued before asking for top up from us and I am really happy with their style,” he told Starr Sports.
Team Ghana so far failed to make any mark in any discipline in the ongoing games and they are likely to return on August 22 from Brazil.
