Today, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 marks the 81st birthday of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club. Going through the club’s rich history and reflecting on the numerous major achievements in the last eight decades and more, we are compelled to first show gratitude to God for how far He has brought this club and its massive followers.
Secondly, we see it as a duty to applaud the efforts of individuals who have through diverse ways contributed to the scripting of the club’s rich history from 1935 till date. There’s no way the list of people who have served Kotoko in way or the other can be exhaustive.
On an occasion like this, it’s imperative that we pat everybody on the back. However long that list will be, hence our inability to publish it, we have to single out the Owner and Life Patron of the Club, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in acknowledgement of his unalloyed support.
We also mention for praise, the current Board of Directors, management, technical team members, players, supporters, sponsors and partners for all they have done and continue to do for the club. We say happy birthday to them being been part of this great institution.
On this day, we’ve been thinking deeply about the unquantifiable joy Kotoko have brought to its massive fans over the years, the same way as we have been reflecting over the many other things Kotoko could have done or undertaken but haven’t done or achieved over decades.
This may not be the correct time to enumerate those things but on a day like this, we implore all who have the club at heart, to ponder over what they can do to help the club become stronger and stronger in every sphere of modern football.
This is not just the time to celebrate but to also look back and re-organise ourselves for a brighter future. Asantekotokosc.com say happy birthday to Asante Kotoko SC.
Fabulous, still the best!
