#GHPL: Hearts thump All Stars to breathe life into title challenge, Ashgold secure first away win, WAFA drop points

Hearts Of Oak put smiles back on the faces of its numerous supporters by hammering relegation-threatened Bolga All Stars 4-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

 

The Phobians secured the all important victory on match day 18 of the Ghana Premier League, having suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat in the hands of West Africa Football Academy last weekend.

 

Two goals each from Kwame Kizito and Vincent Atinga were enough to hand Frank Nutall’s charges all three points.
Hearts still lie at third position with 30 points, with 12 matches to end the season.
League leaders, WAFA failed to stretch the lead on top of the league log following a barren stalemate with Liberty Professionals in Dansoman.

 

Wa All Stars returned to winning ways after going five games without a win by posting a 3-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Malik Jabir Park. David Abagna secured a brace for the defending league champions whilst, Seth Amoateng got the third goal to put the game beyond the Blues. The win pushes All Stars to the tenth position on 24 points.

 

At the El Wak Park, Inter Allies recorded a 2-0 win over Elmina Sharks. Hashmin Musa and Abdul Nassiru Hamzah scored a goal each to snatch the win for the Eleven Is To One.
Elsewhere at the Cape Coast Stadium, Ebusua Dwarfs piped Bechem United 1-0. Stephen Bentil scored the only goal of the game.

 

Ashanti Gold secured their first away win by beating improved Medeama SC by a goal to nil in Tarkwa. Richard Ocran netted the game’s only goal through the spot. The Yellow and Mauves had a late penalty to equalize by was saved by George Owu, who put up a man of the match performance.

 

Great Olympics will battle struggling Tema Youth on Saturday whilst, Aduana welcomes Asante Kotoko to Dormaa on Monday afternoon.
