Industrious defender, Christopher Boney has rubbished the hotheaded bribery allegations leveled against him by some section of the supporters of the club which happened on the eve of their 3-1 triumph over Inter Allies last Wednesday.
The experienced defender had to be excluded from their midweek league game after some of the supporters led by Musah Achiawnu apparently accused the ex- Asante Kotoko defender for hiding under the cloak of Coach Didi Dramani to negotiate match of convenience with Inter Allies officials.
The enraged fans explained that they saw their hard-working defender together with some foreigners who were purported to have been officials of Inter Allies at the Elmina Beach Resort during the WAFU tournament.
The supporters’ leader, Musah Achiawnu on Tuesday broke the news to the public which made the player request for his exclusion from the squad that won 3-1 against the La-based club.
The irate fan retreated that they caught the defender secretly having closed-door meeting with the officials of the Tema-based team at the Elmina Beach Resort which they claimed the meeting was all about inducing the former U20 defender to aid Inter Allies victory over their darling club Ebusua Dwarfs, but the one-time Kotoko defender has come out to dump this claim unto the refuse.
“ I have never met any official of Inter Allies let alone to collect money from him, I only met my former coach Didi Dramani who rather took me to the Elmina Beach Resort to have a meal and nothing like football related issues were even discussed so I don’t understand why some of the supporters are surprisingly accusing me of taking bribe from Inter Allies officials’’.
’’ It is never true and I can never do that because I love Dwarfs that is why after my stint with Kotoko, I returned to the club’’. He revealed to ATL FM.
The top hierarchy of Ebusua Dwarfs have taken the issue upon themselves to further ascertain and probe it.
