Liberty Professionals coach Michael Osei has heaped praises and lauded the determination on the part of his players in the 2-1 win against Medeama SC on Week 27 of the Ghana Premier League at Tarkwa.
Striker Bernard Arthur put the Scientific Soccer lads ahead in the 17th minute before Bernard Ofori scored on the 37th minute to pull parity for the home side.
But as the game looked to have ended in a draw Arthur netted again through the spot to secure all three points.
Osei indicated that it was a keenly contested tie on the afternoon.
“My good friend Evans Adotey has built a very good side in Medeama but coming into the game, we knew only a win will be a better result for us hence we’re determined to pick the maximum points,” Osei told reporters.
“Our motivation was really high than Medeama because they came into the game on the back of a painful defeat to Kotoko in the FA Cup. Therefore, we were eager to capitalize on that but in play I think it was a very difficult match, however I’m happy we’ve been able to achieve what we came here to do.”
“I will congratulate my players for a good job done. They were very determined and tactically disciplined.”
The victory moves Liberty away from the relegation zone to 12th position.
