THE PUBLICITY OF THE NATIONAL WOMENS LEAGUE FINAL WAS POOR- ISAAC MENSAH

Lady Striker’s general manager of Mr. Isaac Mensah has blamed the poor attendance recorded at the finals of the National Womens League (NWL) between Lady Strikers and Ampem Darkoa Football Club at the Baba Yara sports stadium in Kumasi on the 7th October, 2017 to poor publicity.

In an interview with ATL FM sports Mr. Mensah said most media houses did not talk about the match and he will blame the organizers for not putting in much publicity efforts. There was nothing at the stadium to even signify that there was going to be a final match on that day.  “When we got to the stadium for the pre-match conference, the security men at the gate of the stadium told me that they have no idea about the competition which will be taking place at the stadium. So if the people at the stadium don’t even know about the match what more of those at home. This shows that the publicity was poor”, he lamented

Mr. Mensah argued that at the time the match was about to start, there were no supporters at the stadium to cheer the teams up to boost their moral to victory. ‘I think the organizers did not do enough publicity in Kumasi ahead of the match since there were no supporters present to cheer the team”, he added.

Meanwhile, he admitted that the team has seen great improvement with changes in the technical team prior to the start of the season. The technical team is headed by Rashid iddi with Baaba Aidoo as the assistant.
