Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Stars, Albert Ayeetey Commey has taken a swipe at Elmina Sharks owner, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, noting that the representatives of the popular politician tried to grease the palm of the referres, who officiated the week 29 Ghana Premier League encounter between the two clubs over the weekend, in Dormaa.
Aduana Stars secured a narrow 2-1 win over the Sharks to inch closer to winning their second Premier League title.
But after the game Dr. Nduom took to his Facebook Page to express his displeasure about certain obvious practices that usually go on during football seasons in Ghana. He claims his team lost to Aduana not because he’s not having a good squad but that, the Fire Boys were aided by referees.
And, responding to allegations levelled against Aduana Stars, Albert Commey, who doubles as Ghana Football Association Executive Member indicated that he is disappointed in the renowned politician, urging him to accept defeat since ”not all officials and persons can be bought with money”.
“In fact, I’m very disappointed in Dr. Nduom. He shouldn’t talk like this about football in the country. Someone who’s likely to be President of this shouldn’t talk like this”. Commey opined on Adehyee FM in Kumasi.
“Aduana have a good team. We purchased experienced players like Yahaya Mohammed and Nathaniel Asamoah. Check the number of years Saka has been here.
“He should accept defeat. Some of us are not pushovers. Not all can be bought with money. You know his reps tried to influence the match official who officiated the game over the weekend. That’s what they’ve been doing and we are aware. They couldn’t outwit us;that’s why he is saying those things.
” If he wants to do football in Ghana then he should change his style because it will not help him. There is no way they could beat us. Even at Elmina we won, how much more at Dornaa.
“We are winning the league on credit. We have gone through challenges within the season but by God’s grace here we are”,
The current season cones to an end coming weekend. Aduana Stars will trek to Obuasi to face relegation threatened Ashanti Gold.
