Ghana U-17 centre-back Bismark Terry Owusu is optimistic of a victory when Ghana take on African counterparts Niger in the round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup on Wednesday.
The Black Starlets, top group A after securing a huge win over India to set up a clash with the West African outfit. Ghana hope to progress to the quarterfinals after failing to appear in the tournaments for the past ten years.
The two times World Champions [1991 and 1995] beat off competition from the USA and Colombia to top the group.
And ahead of the showdown, Ghana defender, Terry Owusu who replaced the injured Abdul Razak Yusif in the final group game against hosts India says the team is poised for victory against the Mena Cadets.
“The coach tells us you can do it and go all out for a win. That’s what we are going to do,” he said at a pre-match presser on the eve of the match.
Ghana will face Niger at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Kickoff is at 11:30 GMT.
