Former Black Stars captain Charles Kwablah Akonnor has mentioned that coach of Black Starlets Paa Kwesi Fabin should not be wholly blamed for his side’s failure to reach the last four of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.
The two-time African Champions wer ousted out of the tournament on Saturday following a 2-1defeat to African counterpart Mali.
According to Akonnor, the Starlets failed to reach the semifinals because the team didn’t play as a unit.
He however, called on the Ghana Football Association to pay outmost attention about the players because of their enormous talents.
“We shouldn’t blame coach Paa Kwesi Fabin too much because there is hope for the U-17 team”,
“We need a coach who is a developer to develop the team because they are the future Black Stars”, he told Asempa FM.
“The U-17 players failed because they didn’t play as a team, they were more individualistic”,
The Starlets arrived in Ghana on Tuesday.
