Players of Ghana’s 2017 WAFU winning team get $6,000 bonuses each

Ghana’s 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations winning players have each received a sum of $6,000 as share of bonuses for winning the tournament staged in Ghana in September.

Maxwell Konadu’s side thrashed rivals Nigeria 4-1 in the final to lift the ultimate at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The 18-man squad have been paid a total of $108,000 from a combined cash bonus of $200,000. The remainder goes to members of the technical and management team.

The team never received any winning bonuses but were made to know that, they will share the prize money of $100,000 from the tournament should they win the cup.

Also the President of the land, Nana Akufo-Addo rewarded the team with an extra $100,000 cash after paying a courtesy call on him at the seat of government to present the trophy won.
