Ex- Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker who was much of the fans favorite during his time at Baba Yara Sports Stadium where he was in scintillating form scoring rampantly for the Porcupine warriors.
The soft-spoken forward has made recent revealing to Herosportsgh.com on his time at the club and on the reasons why he cut short his blistering career at the Kumasi based club.
The forward revealed the then management of the club, he reiterated the handwork he put in at the club was not worth the returns he deserved from the management as an appreciation. Most especially record-breaking scoring moments as he got the job done as to what was needed of him.
The fans favorite at the Baba Yara Stadium was the star man on the pitch after the full-time whistle is blown, scoring two-three-four goals. The talked about striker was all over the front page of the newspapers, where rocked in four unanswered goals against Birem United on the road to the 2015 FA cup final.
Amadu’s starstubbed performances was enough to ride Kumasi Asante Kotoko into the final of the 2015 FA Cup, where they were eventually crowned champions and it was this same Latif Amadu who powered the Porcupine warriors to victory scoring two goals in the final match.
“After the game, Opoku Nti called me to congratulate on the goals I scored. He gave me 50 Ghana cedis in addition to the medal for winning the FA Cup, which I rejected. And left”- Amadu explained
The goal-machine’s departure from the Asantehene’s club came as a surprise to many football fans based in country during that time as they awed as it was reported in the news.It has since been described as “an Unprofessional act” by the football club.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko made it 10 FA Cup trophies after winning the 2017 edition beating their rivals Accra Hearts of Oak by 3 goals to 1 to claim the bragging rights, the prize money and also get the opportunity to represent Ghana in next seasons CAF Confederations Cup.
