Black Stars newbie Kasim Nuhu has revealed that he is hoping to achieve in his career as former Ghana international Sammy Kuffour, noting that he idolizes the erstwhile King Faisal guardsman.
The Young Boys defender was handed his Ghana debut last month in a friendly encounter against Saudi Arabia, where he performed creditably.
Nuhu was part of Black Stars team that were held to a 1-1 stalemate in the last world cup qualifier at Cape Coast on Sunday.
Kuffour has had a stellar career at both club and international level, winning the UEFA Champions league with Bayern Munich in 2001. In his hay days, he was regarded as one of the very best defenders in the world.
He has noted to Citi Sports that he wants to reach the heights set by Sammy Kuffour.
“Sammy Kuffour is amazing. He’s someone I always look up to. He was a fighter and a leader. He’s everything a defender ought to be,” he told Citi Sports.
“I watch a lot of his videos on youtube and I hope to be like him,” he concluded.
Kasim has had a great start to the Swiss Super League season, starting 12 of the 14 matches so far and has scored 2 goals to help Young Boys to a 7-point lead at the top of the table.
