Manager of Saviour Gad, John Kwakuvi has told the media that they target a World Title bout in Russia, in the not too distant future.
Gad, after his round 2 stoppage of Daniel Timothy at the Infinity Stars Hotel, has set his sights on a Title bout. The undefeated Welterweight boxer, whose fight against Timothy was the main bout at the Penyi non-title challenge, won per a technical foul from his opponent in December 2017.
Saviour, also known as ‘Volta Tyson’ now has 6 fights, 4 wins and 2 draws. His manager, who is also popularly known as Infinity say, he will organize another bout within the West Africa Coast, before the target in Russia.
“The way forward, the sky is going to be the limit. Before the bout, I promised my boxer that, if by the Grace of the Almighty God, he is able to win this fight, I will organize one other fight within the West African Coast. And if he able to win that alongside this, the next one, I am going to do all I can, to go to Russia with him. Because he made me understand that, the person who is having the title within his weight is in Russia and that is our target. So if he wins the next bout, we will go to Russia to bring the World Title to Ghana.”
Saviour, who hails from Adina, in the Volta region is poised to join the likes of Isaac Dogboe, Agbeko, Anama Doste and others, who are making the region proud in Boxing.
Meanwhile, Daniel Timothy wants a rematch against Saviour Gad as he felt he was cheated. TalksenseSports will continue to monitor the probability of the rematch and also the preparations for Saviour’s next fight.
