The Zonal women championship currently ongoing at the Robert Mensah Stadium in the Southern and Wesco Park in the Northern recorded the highest goals on Tuesday, January 23.
The day 4 fixtures had Volta’s Anlo Ladies and Western’s Hassport suffering huge defeats after the latter lost to the former on day 3. Anlo ladies were pummeled 7-0 by Army Ladies, while Hassport were also thrashed 7-0 by Valued Girls in the first match.
The third match of the day saw Halifax beating Combined Forces 2-0, totaling 16 goals.
Halifax after the win, have extended their lead to 3, now having 10 points, with Army Ladies following with 7 points, pushing Combined Forces to 3rd with 5 points. Hassport and Valued Girls are tied on 4 points, with Anlo Ladies occupying the bottom spot now with 3 points.
The last day will have Halifax Ladies play Hassport Ladies in the first match, while Combined Forces engage Army Ladies for match 2. Valued Girls and Anlo Ladies will wrap up the fixtures.
Supreme Ladies kept their consistency and their lead, after a 1-0 win over Candy Soccer Academy in the Northern zone.
The Ashanti region team, who stood bye on day three, are 3 points clear at the top with 9 points. Dreamz, also from Ashanti are second with 6 points as they dispatched Savannah Ladies 3-2. Savannah are 3rd with 4 points while Future Queens who stood bye today are bottom with no point.
Savannah might have finished their games but not the rest of the teams. Dreamz will lock horns with Candy Soccer Academy while Supreme Ladies battles it out away with Future Queens for the first match.
In both zones, the top 2 teams have the chances of qualifying to play in the 6th edition of the National Women’s League.
