The Volta Regional Boxing Federation (VRBF) is organizing a Boxing seminar in Ho, to equip participants in all aspects of the sport.
The Seminar is the first of its kind in the region and it will take place at the Pensioners Hall from Sunday, February 25, to Saturday, March 3, 2018.
The one week program which is under the supervision of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) will educate and certify participants to be Boxing Coaches, Promoters, Match Makers, Ring Announcers, Referees and others.
National Boxing Coach, Ofori Asare and other experienced, certified & internationally recognized coaches are expected to train all interested. Other dignitaries are expected to grace the opening ceremony of the seminar.
Chairman of the Volta Regional Boxing Federation, Foster Enam Dagadu, in confirming the event to Herosportsgh.com encouraged people to take advantage of the program as it comes at no cost.
“The seminar will start from 25th February to 3rd march. We expect the national Coach to be around. We are expecting the President of the National Boxing Federation to grace the opening ceremony, and we are expecting some dignitaries like the regional Minister, the Municipal Chief executive, the Sports director, and those who matter when it comes to Sports. So we are calling on people to show interest. Event Organizers can take part in this seminar, because you’ll learn about how boxing is organized, like Match makers. They can take part of this event and make it Big. Individuals, graduates who want to go into event organization or event management, people who love sports and can be boxing Judges, referees and coaches can take advantage of this as it is free.”
The Regional Boxing Federation since its resurrection in 2015 had its first bout in August 2017. There are plans to further promote the sport in the region by setting up district associations.
The upcoming seminar is also aimed at making the sports vibrant and very operative in the region.
A similar program was organised by the Ghana Boxing Authority in Accra last year.
