Great Olympics put Court Injunction on GPL

Accra Great Olympics have placed a court injunction on the start of the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League Season.

The Greater Accra based club is seeking for justice as they feel they were unlawfully relegated at the end of last season.

Olympics alleged that Bechem United fielded an unqualified player when the two sides met in the league last season and the rules must be applied.

Reports indicate Mr. Isaac Addo received the writ on behalf of the Ghana FA on Monday afternoon.

According to the writ served the FA by an Accra High Court, the launching of the upcoming season which is scheduled to come off today, should be cancelled. Again, it stated that all issues at the FA’s disciplinary committee concerning Olympics should be resolved before the start of the league

Last but not the least, the Ghana FA can hold their Congress but shouldn’t make a pronouncement about demoting Great Olympics.

The Ghana Premier League was scheduled to start on February 11 but could be postponed due to the latest development.
