St. Theresa’s College of Education, Teresco had no mercy on Mawuli girls, as they demolished the latter 35-3 in a week 8 fixture of the Volta Regional Handball League.
Mawuli, who are still in the process of getting a formidable team couldn’t stand the tenacity of the Terescans who came into the game with lots of energy and determination to win.
The first 5 minutes of the first quarter had things going cool and steady for both sides, not until Teresco started stretching the lead as their opponents had no solutions to avoid conceding and scoring as well.
Mawuli at a point looked shattered but due to the determination, they stayed on till the end of the game played on Saturday, February 10, 2018.
This becomes Mawuli’s second loss since losing to Mawuko in week 2. They, however, have 1 win, which was against EPUC in week 4.
For Teresco, they have made three wins out of 3 matches and will next face EPUC on March 17, in a week 11 fixture.
The Maiden edition of the league is now having 4 outstanding matches; a week 6 rained off match between Stars of Asha and HTU, week 7 ties involving Stars of Asha male and female against Prosco and Mawuko, and then a week 8 clash between Prosco and HTU.
Dates will be fixed for all these matches by the Exco of VRHA to be played, after which the table for the league will be prepared.
Meanwhile, week 9 matches, will have a return of HTU versus Stars of Asha male, and the Stars of Asha female against Mawuko, whose first leg game yet to play.
The Volta Regional Handball Association is still working around the clock to get the sponsors to support the maiden league. Nevertheless, former national black hands goalkeeper, Patrick Norvor who promised the Association trophies, presented 2 of them on Saturday, February 3, 2017, at the Ho Sports Stadium.
