Sergeant Lomotey elected RAG Chair

Philip Nii Tetteh Lomotey has been elected Chairman of the Referees Association of Ghana, Ho Central zone at its 3rd Quadrennial Congress held on Saturday, February 17, 2018.

Lomotey, a Police by profession polled 27 votes of the total valid of 42 to beat Wisdom Kumfour, his only competitor. It was a rather joyous moment for many when the results were declared as they believed in the vision of the Sergeant.

In an interview with Herosportsgh.com, PNT says is the first action is to unite everybody in the Association within the first month, explaining the meaning behind his campaign message ‘Ho will stand Again’.

“It is normal, I knew I was winning, because I hit the ground already. When we came to the Association, things we used to see have fallen down, not as it is; discipline wise, referees to division 1 and premier league, all is It like as we saw it that is why we brought the ‘Ho must stand again’ used to be. My first action is to unite all because we went to an election, and there have been lots of words against me and others. So I will unite both old and new executives together within the first month.”

There was a close call between incumbent Richard Kumedzro and Rustum Gameli Senorgbe for the Secretary post, with the former winning by 22-20.

Other positions saw Chestertine Fiagbe beating Kennedy Odame 25-17 to the Assistant Secretary spot. Stephen Balanguena was maintained as the Deputy Instructor, polling 27 as against Isaac Narteh -Yoe’s 15.

Emmanuel Awutey had no problems in the 4 man race for the Deputy Fitness Instructor post. He polled 27, while Moro Iddrisu had 12 votes. Israel Ahiafokpor and Maxwell Dzansi could only manage 2 and 1 vote respectively.

Ambruce Senahia stood unopposed for the Vice Chairman Position, as well as Benedicta Womade for Treasurer; Emmanuel Dagbui as Instructor and Delight Alorbu as Fitness Instructor.

With the elections over now, many will be expecting a good work from the current executives for the next 4 years. The Ho Central zone’s immediate assignment is to officiate the Central zone 44th Inter School Sports Festival football matches from February 24, through to March 2.
