Volta Stars Spikers (VSS) travels to Atimpoku on Sunday, March 4 to face Atimpoku Bridge Spikers in a return Volleyball friendly.
The match which is to keep the two sides active and also to network, sees both male and female sides battle it out for the bragging rights.
The male side of Volta Stars Spikers had a good 4-1 win against their opponents at Ho, taxi rank and would love to make it a double. The female side, which lost in all 3 sets (3-0) to their nemesis, would also fight for revenge when they meet on Sunday.
Secretary of Volta Stars Spikers, Collins Adjato, in an interview with Herosportsgh.com expresses his optimism in winning both games, as they work more on their ladies.
“We are playing this friendly first of all to see our level of activeness; to see how we can improve upon our training skills and secondly to be in touch with sister teams in & outside the region. Our expectation is nothing short but our ladies this time must win and as for the guys, they will not win us. We are preparing our ladies to also beat them, so that it wouldn’t be a party win for their ladies and partly win for our guys. So we are in to win both games.”
Volta Stars Spikers remain the defending champions of the maiden edition of the Volta Regional Volleyball League, back in 2016.
The team, since their success in the league, has been engaging themselves in series of friendlies as the league failed to continue last year and this year too.
Volta Region is however in preparedness to host this year’s edition of the Southern Volleyball Championship in July.
