The Greater Accra Handball Association has gone through a successful season last year is poised to begin this year’s activities with a ‘Gala’ slated for Friday and Saturday, March 16 & 17, 2018.
The Gala, which comes off at the Handball court of the University of Ghana, Legon and starts at 9 am will have teams do their balloting at 8 am, the same venue. The knockout competition which involves 13 male and 11 female teams, will also see Kasland male Handball team partaking after they applied to participate in the league.
However, their participation in the league is being considered by the executives of GAHA, as their application for participation came after GAHA’s AGM in February.
Defending champions of the Gala, Prisons female and Navy male; League champions, Police male and female, will have to work their socks off in the 15 minutes each quarter games.
The euphoria around the GAHA league is expected to grow this year as some clubs have joined the train. However, results from the two day Gala will show how prepared the teams are for this season’s activities.
Origin 8 is billed to be the title sponsor of this year’s league, while others come on board.
The 2018 league season will begin on Wednesday, March 21 at the Kaneshie Complex where Prisons host Cantonments Youth at 2 pm.
