Agyengo fulfils the promise of medals to Volta Sports

Agyengo Sports Foundation, an NGO based in Ashanti Region fulfilled their promise of 210 medals to Athletics athletes at the just ended 45th Annual Inter-Zonal Sports Festival at Ho.

The foundation, led by CEO Felix Agyemang Duah made the presentation himself to the Regional Physical Education Coordinator, BB Dotse on Tuesday, March 13 during the athletics events.

The foundation after its inception in 2009 has visited 9 regions during their Regional competition with their first in Accra being in February this year. Volta, have however been blessed as they have received these medals for the 3rd consecutive time. The foundation whose founder was a former athlete is using this benevolence to motivate the young talents to achieve medals status for Ghana at the Olympic Games in the future.

Winners, runners-up and 3rd places of the various athletics events (discus, shot put, javelin, long & high jump, 100m, 200m & all track) in both boys and girls divisions, received medals, courtesy Agyengo.

At the Closing ceremony on Wednesday, March 14, Regional Education Director, John Teku expressed his appreciation to Agyengo Foundation for their motivation to the winners.

“We have somebody here who supported us in donating medals. 2 years ago I witnessed the same thing in Kpando. We thank you so much, Mr Agyeman Duah Felix. This is all that we need in Sports, one ma cannot do it. Our doors are opened to all the people in the region. We want support to develop Sports”.

Regional P.E Coordinator, Bright B Doste in an interview with Herosportsgh.com, was full of praise of Agyengo Sports Foundation’s donation, charging indigenes of the region to emulate him.

“Three years now, he has been supporting Volta Sports and only God we Thank for His favour so far. I wish good Health, God’s protection, development of his business that he’s been using to support Volta Regional Sports programs. Actually, I am very happy about his benevolence; even he is not a native of Volta but an Ashanti. An Ashanti supporting Volta Sports; it’s a Cup in his feathers. I urge all Volta people to copy him.”

Agyengo Sports Foundation is ready to partner the government to support these fine talents unearthed to compete for Olympic medals.
