Cool Tempers, Everest yet to lose in GACL

Newbies Cool tempers and Everest CC have kept their momentum in the ongoing Greater Accra Cricket League being played at the Achimota Ovals.

Their consistency has also kept them at the summit of their respective leagues after week 4 matches. Debutants Cool Tempers, who finds themselves in Beta league pool 2, started with a win over Nsromma Kibi Leopards and then brushed aside MMG in week 2. They had a one week break and bounced back to defeat Nsromma Kibi Leopards again.

They have so far gathered 6 points and have 1 more match to play before realizing their dreams of promotion to the Alpha league which has the likes of last year finalist Everest CC. Cool Tempers will face MMG on Oval B in the early hours of Sunday, March 18, while City CC in Pool 1, bounce back with revenge on their minds to play host to Nsoroma Super XI in the afternoon. Leaders Oasis, who defeated Nsoroma Super XI last week, will be on standby.

Everest, an Indian owned club having recruited lots of the Ghanaian players, have also had a 100% record so far. They enjoyed a sweet victory in the first game against Dilmah, before meeting the defending champions Nsromma Taysec Titans.

Their tie, which will be witnessed again come Sunday, March 18 was like a final, as Titans tormented Everest, especially in the second innings. Everest again had to work their socks off to beat GTA on March 11. Their fourth straight win which was a return against Dilmah was also not a mere formality. They have an upper hand heading into the clash against 2nd placed Nsromma Taysec Titans this week in the morning. 3rd place GTA will also be locking horns with Dilmah in the afternoon on Oval A.

The league is helping the national team players in preparedness for the upcoming ICC World T20 Sub Regional tournament- West Africa, in Nigeria next month.
