The Volta Regional Boxing Federation has set Saturday’s to train boxers at the Ho Sports Stadium.
This development comes after the Federation Chairman met with the Sports Director some days ago to discuss its possibility, with some equipment around. The Federation having successfully organized about at the Stadium last year has finally gotten a Coach in Ho to take both boxers and potential boxers in Ho through the sessions.
The move by the federation is also aimed at getting a club in town since the region mostly falls on boxers from Aflao alone, where the regional Coach resides.
In an Interview with Herosportsgh.com, Chairman of the Federation, Enam Foster Dagadu says, he hopes to get a formidable club in the town.
“Per discussions with the Regional Sports Director, we are set to begin the Boxing training at the Ho Sports Stadium. We have some equipment to start with and also have a Coach who will be taking the interested persons through the various drills. We are on this note calling on all those who are boxers and don’t have anywhere to train and also those who want to be boxers. We are opening boxing training centre which is also aimed at getting a formidable club in the regional capital.”
Enam is also called on cooperate bodies and other benevolent individuals to come support this course.
“I appeal to those who would want to sponsor us to achieve this purpose. If you are corporate organizations, individuals who are willing to help, our doors are open any little thing will be appreciated”
The Regional Boxing Federation is as well in preparation for the upcoming National Sports Festival. Nana Antwi at last year’s festival won silver in the light flyweight category after losing in the finals.
Interested boxers and potential boxers alike are to call 0249466263 for free registration for the training to officially begin.
