Simunye Cup 2018: Ghana pips South Africa by a lone goal

The keenly contested deciding encounter on which team makes it to the knockout stage, with South Africa facing of fellow group opponents Ghana as many expectant fans were on the lookout for which team comes up top after the 90 minutes.

Ghana going into this game with high expectations to clinch the win to sail through to the knockout stage. With Head Coach of the Ghana team Seidu Iddrissu on previous comments made prior to the game to stick to his game plan against South Africa.

Ghana started the game with good some possession of the ball, creating almost all the chances in the first half which went begging. It looked more fiercely contested when the South Africans came in strongly in the second half with more precise and aggressive tackling which kept the Ghanaian attack at bay. With few minutes left to end proceedings, the Ghanaians broke the deadlock with a precise finish which sent the whole stadium into jubilations.

The game ended in favour of the Ghana team with a lone goal against the Host country South Africa. Ghana will be automatically drafted into the knockout draw to know their next opponents going into the knockout stage.
