The goal machine has revealed that his newly-appointed club’s chief has assured him of staying put at the club next term
Balikesirspor Ghanaian forward Mahatma Otoo has said he will not be flogged by the Turkish second-tier side in the summer transfer window as he was told by his new president.
The 26-year-old prolific marksman has revealed offers from many admirers following his splendid outings last term with the Balikesir-based club.
And now according to the former Ghana Premier League goal king, his club’s kingpin has shot down the possibility of trading him to other suitors in his bid to sidestep troubles with their team fans over his sale.
“I signed for two seasons with Balikesirspor. l’ve ended one season and l’m looking forward to another season even though offers are coming in, ” the ex-Hearts of Oak frontman told Accra-based Radio Gold
“But before l came down, l had a meeting with the newly appointed club president and he made me aware that he doesn’t have any intention of letting me go now because he doesn’t want to have problems with the supporters as an incoming president.
“He says if he sells me now, the fans will start having problems with him because he can’t just come in and sell their best player. So this is what happened between the two of us before coming down.”
The Black Stars forward is itching for a career stint in Europe’s elite division contests but will continue to pray and work hard to achieving that aim with either his current employers or elsewhere.
“Even though l want play in the elite division leagues in Europe, l think l’m also praying about it as a Christian and if it’s the will of God for me to stay, l will stay and execute my ability as a striker in order to see the way forward,” he stated.
Otoo scored 13 goals in all competitions last term for Balikesirspor.
