Former Ghana U17 Defender Najeeb Yakubu signs for Vorskla Poltava

Ghanaian Youth International Najeeb Yakubu who featured for the Black Starlets in 2017 Under 17 World Cup staged in India has officially joined Ukrainian Premier League side Vorskla Poltava, an announcement made on club’s website.

Najeeb, 18, has signed a 3 years contract with the club for an undisclosed fee and has been handed the number 5 shirt for the ongoing season. The move was facilitated by Ghanaian top agent William Adu Naglado together with USA based agent Isaac Farin under the African Got Talents Sports-management.

The former Unistar Academy graduate played a key role for Ghana U17 team that placed second in the AYC in Gabon and went on to feature for Ghana in the 2017 U17 World Cup in India.

Najeeb, who has been a major target for many European clubs with his diminutive showings on the field of play which has drawn many comparisons with being the Next solid rock to marshal Ghana national team defence in the near future.

With previous keen interest from another Ukrainian top flight side Shakhtar Donetsk which was imminently rejected with conditions not suitable for the player and his management, as the made an immediate U-turn to sign with fellow Premiership side Vorskla Poltava.
