GTF organizes 10th Korean CUP Taekwondo Championships

The Ghana Taekwondo Federation is putting together a 3 day Korean Cup Taekwondo Championships, at the Korea Community Sports Complex (Tema Comm 3) for Seniors, Para Athletes, Juniors and Cadet at 8:00 am daily.

The annual event which has seen 2 additional categories (Junior & Cadet) from last year’s championship begins December 6 and ends December 8, 2018, with Weighing and Balloting to take place at the same venue on December 5, 2018, at 10 am.

A Red 1 Keup or above (for Senior) and a green belt or above (for Para, Junior or Cadet) Taekwondo practitioner, with a registered club of the GTF, is the qualification for a participant as Monday, December 3 is the closing date for registration.

The 10th edition of the Championships will see winners of each category receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals with trophies. There will also be trophies for the Best player male and female & Most promising player male and female in the Senior, Junior and Cadet categories. The overall Best Club by way of accumulation of points per number of laurels won will be rewarded with a giant trophy as well.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea sponsored event will also be a Referees Seminar and Head of Team’s meeting from 10 am to 4:00 pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the Korea Community Sports Complex.

The Ghana Cocoa Board Hostel in Community 6 has been secured by the Organizing Committee as Accommodation for all participants who are desirous to lodge with an amount of GH₵35.00 per bed per day, payable by participants, while reservations are to be made by December 3, 2018.

Addo Benson, Henrietta Armah, Alex Kumi, Grace Ashie, Augustus Agbozo, Eunice Adedapo, Joshua Aryeetey, and Bernard Sarfo among others were winners of the various categories last year.
