Ghana’s national Netball team will leave Accra by road to Nigeria, today for a friendly match against BNB Club of Ikoyi in Lagos.
The team, in preparation towards the international friendly begun residential camping at the Madina Social Welfare Vocational Training School campus from Sunday, January 6, 2019.
The friendly, an invitation from BNB which is to strengthen the friendship between the two teams will be played on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
16 players and 6 officials will be making the trip tomorrow at 8 am to Lagos, where they last defeated the host by a narrow margin, in October 2017 to mark Nigerians Independence.
A return leg in Ghana which was played in April to mark Ghana’s Independence as well, saw Ghana widen the scoreline margin with the visitors only elated about the relationship between the two and the fact that they are promoting Netball.
BNB, being the only Club in Nigeria chose the name ‘Bringing Netball Back’ as their main objective is to make the sport the choice for women and girls in Nigeria.
The match is expected to further boost the interest of more women in their region and the country at large as the rivalry between the two nations continues.
Ghana’s team returns on Sunday, the 13th of January 2019.
