The skipper of the side is confident his outfit will return with a favourable outcome against the Cottoners in the first leg tie of the Caf second-tier inter-club competition
Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong says “no matter how difficult the tie may be against Coton Sport Garoua” , he and his teammates “will secure a very good result” in the first leg of the Caf Confederation Cup in Yaounde.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to face off against their Cameroonian opponents as they set sight on advancing to the group stage of the competition this term having missed out on previous occasions for the continental contest.
A favourable scoreline for the first leg tie will cushion the Ghanian side ahead of the reverse fixture and the 30-year-old is upbeat about a positive result in tomorrow’s crunch encounter against the Central African counterparts in Yaounde, Cameroon.
“No matter how difficult the game we are surely going back to Ghana with a very good result,” the full-back told Nhyira FM
“We have a potent defense that can neutralize the attacking prowess of Coton Sport,”
“We have discussed a lot and watched montages of Coton Sport before coming here (Cameroon) and our coach has encouraged us to take our chances even if its a half chance,”
“They are a good side but we have what it takes to eliminate them. We are battle ready and victory will surely be ours.”
