Head coach of Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah has responded to the issues of being sacked after the 2019 African Cup of Nations if he fails to lift the trophy.
The manager said that he not received any official message of that sort and has neither been engaged by the Normalization Committee in any conversation like that. He vehemently said “I haven’t heard it” when he was posed with the question of being sacked by one of our reporters. He says that it is high time that the team wins the African Cup of Nations.
” Every Ghanaian knows that it’s about time we win the AFCON and the most important thing is to make sure we prepare well in order to do our best. So that we can win it”. Mr Appiah further emphasized the importance of the qualifier against Kenya despite already booking the teams ticket to Egypt this summer.
Kwesi Appiah was interviewed after Asante Kotoko’s CAF Confederation Cup qualifier against Caton Sports last Sunday, 20th of January 2019 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
