Ghana U20 national team succumbs to yet another loss, this time against a much rejuvenated competitive Niger U20 side by two goals to nothing (2-0) in a friendly match prior to the 2019 U20 AFCON to be staged this month in Niger. The same side that beat Ghana by a lone goal last year in the WAFU B tournament played in Togo.
Goals from Malik and Ghanaian born Nigerien international Issah Abdoulaye Salou sealed a 2-0 victory for the Nigeriens, to keep their momentum alive as they’re poised to win this years competition to be hosted in their home country.
The Satellites going into the game with a poor run of form losing against both Ghana Premier League club’s Dreams FC and Accra Hearts of Oak in a friendly encounter respectively in their preparation for the 2019 U20 AFCON, which is a couple of days away.
Ghana has been drawn in Group A and will face Burkina Faso, South Africa and the host nation Niger to know the fate of the country’s who will represent Africa later this year in the U20 FIFA World Cup and the one who will be crowned Champion of Africa in the U20 category.
