The Independence Day friendly match between Ghana’s Netball team and the PMB Club of Ikohi, Lagos, has been scheduled to come off on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
The match, intended to commemorate Ghana’s 61 Independence, was postponed to the current date due to a request submitted to the Netball Federation by the away team after they earlier scheduled it for March 3, 2018.
Ghana, who were having a non-residential camping allowed the girls to go home and to be recalled in early April, in order for them to have adequate preparations.
16 players have been called up for this all-important friendly which will keep the girls at their toes and also prepare them, towards their upcoming African Senior Championship in August, a qualifier to the World Netball tournament.
President of the Ghana Netball Federation, Rev. E.D. Nikio tells Herosportsgh.com, they will call back their players early April.
“They brought the date yesterday and said 14th of April. We will call our players back either on the 5th or 6th of April so that we can train for about 8, 9 days.”
Ghana beat their nemesis in October last year, in commemorating Nigeria’s Independence and look forward to a double.
