Having been battling relegation for the past seasons, the Limpopo based club are now riding high in the ongoing PSL campaign
Ghana and Polokwane City centre-forward Mohammed Anas has said that clinching the top-spot of the ongoing 2018/19 Absa Premiership has so far not been their top target.
The 24-year-old frontman and his teammates are currently enjoying a superb run of form in this term Premier Soccer League campaign and have so far garnered 26 points in their sixteen league appearances.
Many have tipped them for the ultimate this year, but the former Maritzburg United forward says such notion for the annexation of the title is not something that has been discussed prior to the start of the season, but they will keep on surging forward and see where they will land on the standings when the season comes to a close.
“For us [Polokwane City] we just want to maintain our league form game by game,” the ex-Free State Stars marksman told KickOff.com
“We didn’t set any target for our ourselves that we want to be number one or number two or what, but just want to take it game by game and at the end of the season we will see where we will be,” he emphasized.
The striker has seen massive recruitment done by the club chairman, Johnny Mogaladi and is now full of encomium for the club’s kingpin as such addition of fresh legs has paid the dividend to their cause in the ongoing top-flight campaign.
“I think the chairman knows what he was doing this season,” Anas stated. “So bringing in some players, and for us also putting our heads together, it’s working out nicely for us.”
Mohammed Anas has racked up two goals for Polokwane City in the ongoing league season.
Polokwane City are currently sitting 3rd in the league standings with 26 points.
